Hillsborough County will open a pop-up service center at Brandon Regional Library on Nov. 9. Staff will help income-eligible residents apply for hurricane repair funds.
The Brandon center will be open from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM in Room 1 at 619 Vonderburg Dr.
A second pop-up center will open in Mango on Nov. 4 from 5 PM to 7 PM. It will be at Mango Park & Recreation Center, 11717 Clay Pit Rd., Seffner.
The centers serve residents who had property damage from Hurricanes Helene or Milton in 2024. The help is for the county's Rebuilding for Tomorrow Homeowner Repair and Reconstruction Program.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded the county $709 million for storm recovery. About $211 million will go to the homeowner program.
Eligible residents can qualify for:
- Up to $350,000 to replace or rebuild storm-damaged housing
- $10,000 - $50,000 in reimbursement for permitted work already done
- Up to $150,000 in repairs that other programs did not cover
The program serves homeowners who earn up to 120% of Area Median Income. For a two-person household, that is $110,100 a year. Households at 80% or less get priority. That is $73,400 for a two-person household.
The county service center at 1029 E. Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa stays open 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. A county call center also helps with applications on weekdays. The program will stay open until the county obligates all funding.
