The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested a 36-year-old Riverview man. He faces an attempted murder charge after a stabbing on Oct. 28.
Deputies went to a home on the 7000 block of East 19th Avenue on Oct. 28. They found a woman with multiple stab wounds.
Crews took her to Tampa General Hospital. The Sheriff's Office says she is in stable condition.
Detectives with the HCSO Domestic Violence Section say the woman and the man had a verbal argument. Deputies say the argument turned physical.
The Sheriff's Office says the man strangled the woman. Deputies say he stabbed her multiple times in the neck and hands. They say he then fled in her vehicle.
Detectives were still at the scene when they saw a man on foot nearby. He matched the suspect's description. Deputies confirmed his identity and took him into custody.
The man faces these charges:
- Attempted Murder in the First Degree
- Burglary of a Dwelling with Assault or Battery
- Domestic Battery by Strangulation
- Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Charges are accusations, not findings of guilt.
The Sheriff's Office says the investigation remains active. Its Public Affairs Office will give any updates.
