Sponsor terms

These terms apply when your business buys an ad on Brandon Dispatch (brandondispatch.com). “We” and “us” means LateShift LLC, the company that runs Brandon Dispatch. “You” means the business that buys the ad.

When you tick the box on the order form and pay, you agree to these terms.

1. What you buy

You can buy one of three packages. The order page shows the price before you pay.

Grand Opening (one payment, 30 days)

Your banner at the top of one town's page.
Your box inside each story about that town.
The ad runs for 30 days. It does not renew. We do not charge you again.
It is made for businesses that just opened or open soon.

Town sponsor (monthly)

The same two places as Grand Opening, for one town.
We charge your card each month until you cancel.

Single placement, all towns (monthly)

One ad position on pages for all towns. The positions are: Header banner, In-story box, Sidebar box, Home feed banner and Footer banner.
We charge your card each month until you cancel.

The towns are Brandon, Valrico, Bloomingdale, Seffner, Riverview and Plant City.

Your ad shares each place with up to 2 other sponsors.

Each sponsor gets a report of views and clicks each month. We do not promise a number of views or clicks.

2. Founding price

While the founding offer is open, the first 10 sponsors pay a founding price. The founding price stays the same for 12 months on your subscription. After 12 months, your price changes to the standard price. We email you at least 30 days before the change.

3. We approve each ad before it runs

We look at each ad before it goes live. No ad runs until we approve it.
We review every ad within 1 business day. Your billing month starts when you pay.
If we approve your ad, we email you when it is live.
If we decline your ad, we email you the reason. We give you a full refund.
If we do not approve or decline your ad in that time, you can ask us to cancel the order. We then give you a full refund.

4. Ad rules

We do not accept these ads:

Political ads: ads for or against a candidate, a political party or a ballot measure.
Adult or sexual content.
Alcohol ads that target people under 21.
Ads that are false or misleading.

We can decline any ad for any reason. If we decline it before it runs, you get a full refund.

If a live ad breaks these rules, we can remove it. This also applies when the page your ad links to changes and breaks these rules. If we remove a live ad for this reason, we do not refund the rest of that month.

Your ad link must start with https.

5. Billing

Stripe takes your payment. We do not see or keep your card number.
Grand Opening: you pay one time. There is no repeat charge.
Monthly packages: your billing month starts when you pay. We charge your card on the same day each month. The charge repeats until you cancel.
Each email from us has a link to your billing page at Stripe. There you can update your card, see your receipts, or cancel.
If a payment fails, Stripe tries again. If the payment still fails, we can stop your ad until you pay.

6. How to cancel

Open the billing link in any email from us.
Choose cancel.

You can also email advertise@brandondispatch.com and ask us to cancel.

When you cancel, we do not charge you again. Your ad stays live until the end of the month you paid for. Then it stops.

7. Refunds

We decline your ad: you get a full refund.
You cancel: you get no refund for the rest of the current month. Your ad runs until that month ends.
We do not give refunds for part of a month.

8. Sponsors never buy news coverage

Sponsors never buy news coverage. Every ad is labeled “Sponsored”.
An ad does not buy a story, and it does not stop a story.
Our news team decides what we report. Sponsors have no say in it. This includes news about the sponsor.

9. Your ad and your rights

You promise that you have the right to use everything in your ad: the images, logos, words and link.
You promise that your ad is true.
You let us show your ad, and the business name in it, on our site while your ad runs. We also use it in your monthly report.

“Make my ad for me” orders: we make a simple ad for you, free. We send it to you to check before it runs. You can use the design anywhere.

10. Changes to these terms

We can change these terms. If we do, we email you first. For a monthly package, the change applies from your next monthly charge. If you do not agree, you can cancel before that charge.
